What RACE do you identify yourself as?  Explain your answer.

The race I identify myself with is brown because race is a way people with privilege and power identify people because of their physical appearance.

What NATIONALITY do you identify yourself as?  Explain your answer.

My nationality is American because nationality is where you were born and I was born in the Unite States of America.

What is an ETHNICITY you identify yourself with?  Explain your answer.

The ethnicity I identify with is latino because my grandparents were born in central america. Ethnicity is a group of people from central america, and Ethnicity is a group with a common interest, so that is my ethnicity.  

 

Describe one of your Chosen Identities on this identity map.  What is it?  Why did you choose this identity?

One of my Chosen Identities is my favorite food, which is pizza. I like it because it tastes really good. That’s why I choose it. It’s a chosen identity because I can change it any time.

Describe one of your Assigned Identities on this identity map.  What is it?  Why is this an identity something that is fixed for you, and cannot be changed?

One of my Assigned Identities is my height, which is 5’9″. It is fixed and I cannot change it. I can’t all of a sudden become 8’11” if I wanted to, its impossible.

Do you think the cartoon avatar of yourself truly shows what you look like?  Explain why, or why not.

I Think my avatar looks as close to what I look like as I could get. I couldn’t get any closer.

Which parts of the cartoon avatar show chosen identities?  Which parts show assigned identities?  Explain your answers.

For chosen identities, an example would be the hoodie I am wearing. I could’ve put what ever I wanted, but I chose the hoodie. An example for assigned identities would be the skin color. The skin color of the avatar is nearly the same as mine, and since it is a screenshot, I can no longer change it.
